What makes PAIDI special
Since 1935, we have been developing furniture for nurseries, children’s bedrooms and teenagers’ rooms. The idea behind it has not changed in almost a hundred years: children grow up faster than you think. So we make furniture that grows with them instead of being replaced every few years. Safe, durable, responsibly made and designed to still look good in its tenth year. We call it: made for growing up.
Our company name “PAIDI” comes from Greek and means “for the child”. For us, it is more than a name. It is the question we ask ourselves with every piece of furniture: what does a child need to grow up healthy and happy?
Safety in every detail
Children’s furniture has to withstand more than other furniture: climbing, romping, little fingers on every edge. That’s why every development at PAIDI starts not with the design, but with the question of what can happen in a child’s everyday life. Over the years, this has led to our own safety concept, which is part of every collection: from the cot with slip-through bars and sliding doors that brake for children’s hands to the anti-tip protection that holds wardrobes and chests of drawers to the wall.
What we develop, we have tested independently. PAIDI furniture is tested to the standards for children’s furniture and carries the GS mark for tested safety, awarded by state-approved testing institutes. The Deutsche Gütegemeinschaft Möbel (German Furniture Quality Association) awards it the Golden M, which only furniture that is stable, safe, durable and harmless to health receives. And because we are convinced of our workmanship, we give a 5-year product guarantee on all current collections.
You can’t see safety in a piece of furniture. That’s why we say it so clearly: at PAIDI, it is not an extra or an optional feature, but the standard by which we measure every item before it goes into a child’s room.
Furniture that grows with your child
For us, growing with your child means that we make furniture that can be adapted to every stage of your child’s life instead of being replaced. The cot becomes a low junior bed, the junior bed a sofa, the changing station a perfectly normal chest of drawers. Desks grow with a crank, and chairs adapt in seat height, seat depth and backrest height, from the first day of school to graduation.
All collections in the PAIDI Baby & Kidsworld range can be combined with one another, so you can extend the room piece by piece instead of furnishing it from scratch.
Your child grows up, the room changes. And PAIDI stays right in the middle of it.
Responsibility for your child’s future
As part of the furniture industry’s Climate Pact, an initiative of the Deutsche Gütegemeinschaft Möbel (DGM), we draw up a complete carbon footprint every year, continuously reduce our CO2 emissions and offset what cannot be avoided through certified climate protection projects, for example for reforestation, renewable energy and clean water in developing countries.
Our furniture is made from wood from sustainable European forestry and is so low in emissions that it may carry the Blue Angel ecolabel and is classified by the Deutsche Gütegemeinschaft Möbel in the best emission class, A.
But the best piece of furniture is the one that stays for a long time and doesn’t need replacing. That is exactly why PAIDI furniture is convertible, expandable and timelessly designed.
Award-winning in every respect
Design juries keep confirming that good children’s furniture can also look good. The Little Flo floor bed won the German Design Award in 2025, the Little Cloud bedside crib won the German Design Award and the iF Design Award in the same year, and in 2026 awards followed for Little Snu, Little PAIDI House and Jonte. Behind each of these pieces are our in-house designers, who bring safety, function and design together as one.
Then there are the seals our furniture carries: from independent testing institutes, the Deutsche Gütegemeinschaft Möbel and the Blue Angel. They confirm what we promise, without you having to take our word for it.
PAIDI has stood for children’s furniture since 1935. In 2025, we were once again named Brand of the Century.
